Level 3 is a 70-hour course, with extra practice hours available. In this course, we advance from the workplace level 1 training and move into more of an occupational setting. We train you as an occupational first aid attendant.
This course covers adult first aid skills. It also covers airway breathing and circulation emergencies, as well as in-depth training on spinal injuries and spinal immobilization. Additionally, it furthers your knowledge of medical, environmental, and minor wound management. We cover oxygen training and principles of immobilization. This includes the initial stabilization of patients, until more advanced care
is available.
The Transportation Endorsement training is a 8-hour course that covers spinal immobilization and patient packaging. Patient packaging is securing a patient to a spine board for transport. We teach airway, breathing, shock management, and different patient positioning. This is required by WorkSafe BC for any higher risk job site that is further than 20 minutes of land surface travel time from a hospital.
